August 2016 sicherte die britische Regierung zu, F\u00f6rderungen aus dem europ\u00e4ischen Forschungsrahmenprogramm Horizont 2020 nach einem EU-Austritt aus eigenen Mitteln fortzuf\u00fchren.<br \/>\nIm Rahmen von Horizont 2020 f\u00f6rdert die EU zwischen den Jahren 2014 und 2020 europaweit Forschung und Innovation mit 80 Milliarden Euro. Gro\u00dfbritannien geh\u00f6rt zu den gr\u00f6\u00dften Nutznie\u00dfern des europ\u00e4ischen Forschungsprogrammes und konnte 15,5 Prozent der bisher ausgezahlten F\u00f6rdergelder einwerben.
